While we are always available to answer your questions in person, here
are several frequently asked ones: Will the
fact that China is so far away disrupt my inventory flow?
Many US firms that source directly in China complain of chronic delays
and disruptions in the flow of goods. Problems often occur not only at
the plant, but also within China’s scattered, underdeveloped
in-country logistics network. There is no national trucking network as
yet and the roads and infrastructure are often unreliable. Languages
and regulations vary by region. Therefore, many US firms complain that
delays often occur after the goods are produced and trucked to the port.
Our mission is to manage and troubleshoot
disruptions on the ground, as they occur. Our staff oversees production
at the plant; and we manage and coordinate a smooth logistics chain to
make sure your goods clear China customs according to schedule. We take
great pains to avoid disruptions and strive to make China seem as if
it’s just down the street from you. Can
the Chinese government shut down my manufacturing program? Many American businesspeople worry about sourcing
products from a "Communist country." China has done a 180 degree turn
since the days of Chairman Mao. Over half of its $1 trillion economy
is produced by the private sector in other words, firms not owned by
the State. China’s steep rise in the global economy is mostly due
to the growth of private industry, and the government has been putting
measures in place to support the continued expansion of its free
markets. Contract enforcement, intellectual property protection, and
other aspects of the rule of law are being established and implemented
by the government, in keeping with its obligations as a new member of
the World Trade Organization. We contract with
the private sector only, and seek China suppliers that are profitable,
growing, and compliant with international labor, export, and quality
control standards. The government values your business highly and has
every incentive to make your experience exporting from China as easy as
possible. Will sourcing through BCB increase
my visibility on my inbound supply chain?
Yes, our service keeps clients informed of the progress and status of a
given manufacturing program at all times. How
does BCB charge for its services? In linking
together and running efficient China supply chains, we can pass on very
large savings to our clients . Some clients report savings of 30-50% or
more. This varies by project. Does BCB
source raw materials? Yes, when the materials
serve as an input to a manufacturing program and when the volumes are
appropriate. In these cases, BCB leverages relationships with raw
material suppliers, both multinational and Chinese, to negotiate bulk
pricing on raw materials on behalf of our manufacturers. How do I get started? Just
give us a call, e-mail us or fill out our Request for Quotation form. Whether you already
have a product in mind that you’d like to start sourcing, or you
need us to help you figure out what part of your manufacturing mix would
be best served by China, we’re here to help.
